UnkieT, any thoughts of what to say for interviews tomorrow with valet companies? They ask for "clean records" but I have two speeding tickets

If they bring up the speeding tickets (which I sort of doubt), let them know that A
You understand the company's liability and reputation are on the line, even despite the owner of the car releasing liability B
you have performed indiscretions, but would like an opportunity to perform to the level of responsibility you believe you can handle. . . . . . and C
tell them up front that you're willing to leave without dispute if you get another speeding ticket (make sure you say that explicitly, or else you leave yourself wide open for them to fire you for any other old thing). Be proactive, and sell them before they name any further conditions.Honestly though, they already think you're a dumb ass 19 year old. Even if the guy standing next to you is 20 and in his Junior year at Yale, he still doesn't know shit about running a business (according to the business owner).
Know your position, and don't hesitate in being a quick learner.

I would mention that you have run your own detailing service and use your customers as further reference. If any of them remember being 19, they'll appreciate your hustle and give you a very good reference.
