Nice sleuthing!

 

Found out about this site when someone sent one of those silly forwards (about a free Applebee's gift card, or Microsoft giving money to save a dying kid or whatever) and then one of the recipients replied to everyone with a link. I actually find it a fascinating site.

 

Gotta love Snopes

 

Snopes is a huge win, it has solved many a stupid argument. Almost as many as IMDB, in fact.

 

Good story either way.

 

I love Snopes and use it regularly. I admit to doing a less than adequate job seaching. I'm still surprised that I didn't get a hit at Snopes though.

 

I was still in Canada. I was watching the start of the ball game and the tv went fttttttttttttt but there was enough video before it happened that I knew exactly what had happened. No not the magnitude but I could tell it was bad.

 

Not sure why, but it's never occurred to me to search the site directly. I've always googled 'snopes' + whatever it is I'm trying to find out about.

 

Probably smart since the Google search engine is more powerful than the site search engine. ;-)

 

I'll trust you since I have no idea about that stuff.
