I used to ride a ton, Mike. When I lived in northern CA, my friends turned me on to mountain biking. We were doing some serious rides in Marin and the hills of the peninsula... I really miss that.

I had my bike built last year, and I've been enjoying it, but haven't really punished myself on it yet. I haven't really adjusted to the cleated pedals, but I'm getting there; I can't get out of them fast enough, and that's making me timid. I used to be a feckin' animal.

Yeah my mountain biking hardcore days precipitated the good affordable cleated pedals of today...just like yours It was clips and tennis shoes My buddy got them on his bike recently and he was having the hardest time adjusting as well. I, recently went with a new comfort bike for my fat ass

Well, I blew over 3 large on my new bike, and damned if I'm gonna' give up!!!

I can always "rev back" to the clipless pedals, but I have too much testosterone for that.
