Well, I'm all for the top 1% being successful and prosperous. Many of them have done (and are doing) outstanding things, and should be rewarded; of course some are just born with the right last name. But in the last year, on the national level, how much attention has been given to Bill Gates' personal fortune? On the flip side, how much attention has been given to helping the homeless find a bed to sleep on or a warm jacket for the winter?

I think we need to worry more about the number of the latter and less with the size of the former. If that makes me a pinko, so be it.
