As much as FB isn't part of my life, I definitely see how creating an "event" can be a helpful way to help people mourn, especially if there are people who aren't able to attend the service. I've seen several memorial pages/groups, or people's pages staying active after they've passed away (that was the case for 3 people on my friends list when I de-activated)...Sometimes those are helpful and other times I've seen it be a place where people wallow in their grief and exacerbate it instead. Hard balance to find maybe.
