Apple Talk.

My junior year in high school, the school added a lab - 24 PCs, 24 Macs (can't recall the model but they were high end in '96), along with a Mac server (which worked well) and two Mac printers (which didn't). The highly inept IT guy spent 3 months trying to get some semblance of security in windows (3.11) and get it to work with Apple Talk. The security was a joke, but Apple Talk was worse. Even getting the Mac side of the lab to work was ridiculous, not to mention sloooooooooooooooooooooooooow. I jokingly suggested installing 1200 baud modems on all the computers and printing via modem - it would have been faster than Apple Talk.

Do you guys find you need to do that a lot these days? It was surely necessary 5 years ago, but I haven't rebooted my laptop in weeks (I use it for work too)... In and out of standby mode, Linksys Wireless card in and out each day... Pretty solid. I'm running XP Pro with the latest patches, of course.
The only reboots I do are for windows patches. It's very rare when a reboot is necessary, and more rare when it's the solution to a problem.
