Help Brant pick a new Miata

I'm calling BS on that one. I think you've fallen victim to an urban myth. Yugos were $5k new and came with seats. Some models had an optional upgrade to "Easy Glide" seats which were shite.
I don't think you'll be able to confirm your assertion but of course, I could be wrong. ;-)

Seriously, I could have sworn that I saw them listed as optional on the sticker back in the day. Of course, it was a long time ago, so I may be mistaken.
I'm NOT mistaken about the accident, though...

You DO suck all the joy out of a good story, John...

I've heard that Snopes gets angry mail from people all the time saying, "NO! That really is true. My friend said it happened to their friend."
Of course I have no confirmation of this.

So, I may have an opportunity to get a new soft top and paint job for the Miata. Is this reason enough to keep the little beast a bit longer...?

I'm sort of thinking out loud. Seeing my thoughts in type helps me sort through them. I'm not convinced it's worth it. Given the state of my car, I'm not sure the next soft top (not just the back window) will survive much longer than the last one. I would need to deal with several other issues just to keep from damaging the new rear plastic window. It's almost easier to not care about the car than to worry about all that.
If I'm going to keep the car as my daily driver, I need:
Paint job
New Top
New drivers seat (possibly passenger seat)
Retrofit factory seatbelts
Fix center console
New stereo head unit
These are the minimum. On top of that, I'd probably want to put a turbo on it. Thankfully, I have a good enough clutch to handle it, so I could avoid THAT expense.
Seems like a lot to put into an essentially value-less car...

for a few days or so, and let them personalize it? Kinda like the Miata Tour 2010-and when it gets back to you, we can have a Miata
Con?
