Ok now that I had some to process the choices, and since I make a living selling luxury autos I gotta put in some input .....

Mini Cooper S.....fun ass car that is larger inside than what the outside shows. I'm 6'2" and fit fine and comfortable.

Mazdaspeed3 (previous generation...don't like the new ones)...I don't like Mazda, except for old RX-7's.

Honda Fit (either generation)....cute car but unless you just want a get around car that gets high 30mpg, I'd look at one of the others if it's in the budget.

Audi A3 TDI...I would only lease a German car so you know you're good and in warranty the entire time you own it.
Jeep Wrangler TJ (or the Unlimited version of that body). Jeeps have lost my confidence...unless you go for an early 00's 4.0L sport or somethin.....

Lotus Elise/Exige....sure man...why the hell not
BMW E39 M5 (we'd talked about this one at Tacos).....I guess....I think some of your other choices would probably be a better ownership experience unless you buy it BMW certified (which can be from private sale as well....that's one good thing about BMW certification).....or a extended warranty since you may not be able to get an 03 certified)

WRX Wagon.....you can't go wrong if you like the utility that has multiple personalities

Boxter S......the least priced porsche I would ever buy....

Probably...just not nearly as in to it as I was long ago. I'd probably be more likely to turbo a Miata than get an S2000 at this point...
Turbo an S2000.
