But the tyres can't be that bad if Toyota, Honda, Mazda, Aston Martin all use them as standard spec .....

The assumption is that the car manufacturers put out a spec for the tires. Odds are Bridgestone can bring the tires to market for the best price.

This is not a slam on their quality...merely an observation.

Oftentimes, tires are different from market to market because of these economies...

I'm quite a fan of bridgestones, and so far the Proxies might be the only thing I've found that I like better, but I'll need to try them on my own car for awhile to know for sure.

[tireoink] S03's are phenomenal in the rain. I ran full-tread S03's in the downpour at Nationals - they still managed to chirp a bit under hard braking! Pouring rain all the way from Topeka to Chicago on the way home, never saw below 85mph, never even a wiggle from them. I've been using 712's, but never again. [/tireoink]

I couldn't help but laugh at TJ's pix of the GT - at first I thought they were reposts of mine from last year's NAIAS until I looked at the crowd

Very cool rims those would look nice especially since your car is black.. Rota makes like perfect replicas of rims... I just bought a set for my gf a couple months back.. replica TE-37's, and they were only 2lbs heavier, but about 2 grand cheaper

As far as tires, I recommend Toyos all the way... I've used FZ4's which is a really sticky tire... but wears down way too fast... probably for street use only with no negative cambers hopefully... T1's are not as sticky as the FZ4's, but its still Z-rated with a higher tire wear rating so it lasts much longer... plus the sidewall of the T1's fold inwards so its not prone to rubbing Good choice and a great price where can i get a set for that price!
