off the record, I will only say it was a stipend, if you will, to Boeing. Of course my office will never admit to saying that.
Of course not.

Here ya go Jeff. Way more info than you will want on the H60-R.

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/sys...raft/sh-60r.htm

Essentially, it is a revamp of existing airframe with upgraded electronics, a few other innovations to make it more . . . . . umm, let's say suited for today's type of warfare .

Excellent. I read globalsecurity from time to time, I didn't see the H60-R (didn't look under the multi mission group).

Is everything you work on get slotted into multirole?

not typically.

Most of my projects stay in the SOF area. But the lines are quickly blurring. There is a huge push to make platforms, especially aircraft, more diverse. I hear then speak about this all the time at briefs.

Do you kno about the new LCS -- Littoral Combat Ship? The whole idea there is to create a ship that has interchangeable modules. depending on the expected mission, you can outfit the ship as required.

That sounds pretty cool, but massively complicated (how big a ship is this? Frigate class?).
