Mitch tried to find a 1 way flight to Toronto around the 20th to come here for Christmas.....like $550!! hell no!

Yeah, I had to take some undesirable flight times in order to get a decent fare... the Saturday night redeyes were about $700... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy too much.

I wonder if airline companies ever stepped back and thought about why they can't make any money... Rather than gouging some customers and giving tickets away to others, why not charge a "flat" rate? Southwest supposedly does this, but even their fares are somewhat "sliding"...

I always did find it odd that certain companies can provide tickets for the exact same flights as another, but at seemingly huge differences in cost

Jet Blue seems to have a pretty stable fare structure. You pay for one way tickets and every seat is the same. Not sure how sliding it is, as I have yet to fly them since their flights out of Seattle are fairly limited, but I definitely want to give them a try...
