Actually, seriously, with cars I agree, Brant. Well, to a point, that is. I assume that's why we're sports car lovers.

J, did you actually get to drive the Lotus? Now that I think of it, the S's 3-dimensional frame (if I recall reading this correctly) was inspired by some earlier Lotus car(s). Is that correct? Is the Elise a 3-dimensional frame too?

That's the Elise Frame. It features a Hydro-Aluminum construction that is riveted and glued to save weight.

I suspect it doesn't have the robustness of an S frame but it looks pretty thorough.
