In the US the most common name for a street (avenue, boulevard, drive, place, whatever) is not Main. It is not Elm. It is not 1st. It is not Broadway.

What is it?

If one swimmer on a synchronized swim team drowns do they all have to drown?

The term, "rule of thumb", is derived from an old English law which stated that a man may not beat his wife with anything wider than his thumb.

An excellent law, in my opinion.
