Getting it today RB but can't it till it is insured and won't be insured till it gets its VIN # assigned by the CHP on Jan 21st

Sheesh I'm gone for a day and this thread blows up. :P Hoping you get her today!! So lame though you're gonna have to walk by her in the garage for more than a month before you can have her out on the road legally!

See, this is just goofy to me. If it is registered as a VW why not simply carry over the same VIN since the VIN relates to the chassis. So weird.

I can't believe you've got to wait 6+ weeks to get a VIN so you can drive it, that sucks.

 

do people just walk in? seems like they want to keep out the riff raff.

 

 

OUR car is NOT the VW frame its a built one. So yeah it needs the new VIN #

The 6 weeks is due to that ( Believe it or not ) is when the BLOWMONT ( where we live ) CHP had their first opening for an appointment.... apparently other types of vehicles like a made from Junk Yard parts etc.. & maybe theres other issues they make appointments for
we HAVE to let them do it due to its the City in which we live.
