they went to put the top up this AM and noted a tear in it

OUR car is NOT the VW frame its a built one. So yeah it needs the new VIN #
The 6 weeks is due to that ( Believe it or not ) is when the BLOWMONT ( where we live ) CHP had their first opening for an appointment.... apparently other types of vehicles like a made from Junk Yard parts etc.. & maybe theres other issues they make appointments for
we HAVE to let them do it due to its the City in which we live.

GOOD NEWS..... we were able to GET the SB100 form today from the Cali DMV 
next step is the CHP issuing the vehicle a VIN # then we have to go to get the BAR Certificate which means the vehicle is exempt from needing a Smog ( due to age type & age of engine )
DMV issued us a Temporary Registration
We plan to go get the New Annie Thursday
Freakin COASTER RIDE has been tuff butt hope all will be worth it in the end

You must be disappointed. I don't like to say "at least" because it's not very empathetic, but at least you aren't able to drive her around until you get her registered...Still it's been quite a journey and I'm guessing you just want it over with.
