Yeah, I tried carrying a tower with a 15" CRT around with me once. That was a pain.

Why don't you get your company to make a fault tolerant laptop, Chaz?
[mikey](it already exists, it's called a PowerBook)[/mikey]
Well at least my reputation proceeds me

I use a laptop at home and at work ... the home one now powers itself off after about 1.5 hours of use whenever I am working or playing on it ... it is only just over 2 years old

I'm assuming it's plugged into the power outlet?

Yup, I almost always use it plugged in ... you can turn it on again immediately after it powers off, but it will then probably only last about 30 minutes before it powers off again ...

I'm thinking that it could be that it just gets too hot??

Hmmm, could be. Do you know if it's a common problem with this particular model? Perhaps the manufacturer has a solution? What brand is it?

If nothing else works, try running with the battery removed. I'm thinking the laptop might run a little cooler without the battery in there...

It is a Sony Vaio something.

I've not checked out whether it is a common problem ... maybe I should do that ...
