You guys have some valid points.....
(1) Drs are HORRIBLE catches unless your looking for a sugar daddy and he wants a trophy wife. It takes more understanding and commitment than most people are prepared to deal with
(2) We don't make a lot and are in debt (from school, not a mercedes)
(3) It is important to love you job. If there was ANYTHING else I could do and be as happy, I would have done it in a second. But, there isn't.

I work for my dad. Don't get paid a whole lot, but my boss is the best in the world (a fact confirmed by others that have worked for him over the years) and the subject matter that I get to deal with on a daily basis is the stuff of dreams for anyone interested in the inner workings of big business or the geo-political landscape that we are faced with today.
I'll never get rich doing this, but I also doubt that I could be much happier than I have been in the last year since I started working with my dad!

My dad wants me to go back to the UK to take over his company .... I don't want to work for / with him since I want to make my own way in life .... I guess that is just a personal choice though ....
Yep,working with my dad is DEFINITELY the high point. I mean, I get to deal with all kinds of interesting people in my job, but my father is truly my hero and I have learned SO much from him...not to mention simply enjoying the time with him.
As for making my own way, I know what you're saying James. In a sense, I had to decide if I wanted to go back to living in his shadow in order to take advantage of this opportunity. I decided that my ego could take it.
I'm not implying that it makes me somehow better...just that when I looked at where my life was and where I would likely want to go with it, that working for my father was the right move for me to make.
This would make a LOT more sense if you knew the whole story about my relationship with my father and his career as I was growing up...but lets just say that I spent about half my life trying to be my own person so it was a MAJOR step for me to take the chance of walking back into his shadow...
