I don't talk to my dad

 

Wick, I can't comment on that impartially. But, I will say this....
I didn't get along with mine for a long while, then I realized what an amazing person he was. Soon after, he died. I kick myself in the ass on a daily basis for all the time I lost and wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy. If the situation can be can fixed, if its a remote chance, I'd recommend doing it. Regret for something like this sucks more than you know brute.

 

I agree, and I am finally learning some interesting reason for why it is this way. Unfortunately it is also something that takes time. I have my hopes

 

I've been blessed with always having a great relationship with my father...and it's only gotten better in the last year since we started working together.

 

I get along great with my dad but my brother, his only son, and my dad don't talk. My brother chose my dad to blame every disappointement in his life on. They both are missing out.

 

Like I said, do whatever it takes. For me, it was a matter of growing up and realizing all things he did that pissed me off were done to make a better person. I just had to swallow my pride and admit to myself I was being a punk.
BTW, are you an Orthopod?

Hoonda, if you are 14 it will be up to you mostly. Your dad won't be changing much but you will. My 14 year old son got in to it tonight with his dad. My son was being a dick and he knew it. Sometimes teenagers are just jerks. It goes with the territory. I love him to pieces though. Here he is: Kyle & friends
