I have no issues with backward compatibility on my Macs... give an example of a problematic issue.

RAID5 Array is more for backup not computing really though. A G5 can hang if your looking for server type business though. I can get 8 gigs of RAM in a G5 though

I'll trade quantity apps for quality
Having had a handful of hard drives fail, I'd consider a RAID array something worth having, not just as 'backup'. The G5's "functional" design doesn't leave room for that type of expansion though. You take what Mac gives you and that's that.

Good for you! I have bad luck. I have friends who've gone through maybe 100 hard drives in the last 10 years with 0 failures. I've had 2 of my 7 or 8 drives go bad. I guess I'm just a in pile of shit, but it's something that I have to consider and Mac can't accomodate it.

Mac does accomodate it.. they are just reliable so you don't have to worry about a crash like that. Your just paranoid that your Winblows is gonna lock up at any given moment..

If you had a proper OS that didnt up the HD you wouldn't have to consider it

Jake, they use the same Seagate Barracuda hard drives that you can buy when you build a PC. 600000 hour MTBF.

Sadly I live life on short end of the box and whisker.
