I'm not even talking about windows, Mike.

PC hardware > Mac hardware
Mac OS > Windows

What's so hard to figure out about what I'm saying? Mac has a good OS (which would run on PC hardware, I believe?). But their hardware, while good, is grossly overpriced for what you get. Other than the motherboard and processors, everything in a Mac is standard PC parts, with a large price premium. The same 400 GB hard drives Mac charges $475 for, sells for $280 elsewhere. 2x512 MB memory is $250 at mac, $140-150 elsewhere. GeForce 6800GT vid card on a Mac is a $400 upgrade ($500 total cost?) but sells for less than $300 elsewhere.

Though I suppose you'll tell me that the memory in a Mac is better because the OS won't hurt it.

I'd take a girl with an apple bottom because her OS doesn't it up!

I'd say I've never had a Mac hard drive fail or hear of any of my friends' Macs' hard drives fail. I have however had a PC hard drive fail on me .. hmm...
<-- Fresh off a Mac (Toshiba) hard drive failure in my Powerbook. First time I've ever had a drive failure. (Note: I never turn off my Powerbook. Not even for transport. )

But the smart drive feature shut down the drive system before complete failure. All data was safe and was easy to transfer to the new drive. All handled by warranty.

And I understand if you're willing to put up with the expensive hardware to get the superior OS. In fact, I intend to do just that some day.

But to deny it... I don't get it... :shrugs:

Which is why I have not bothered to contribute to this discussion.
