brant not only is that too long to read, but it also doesn't address the water-bag concept at all..... for shame....

However, the concept of air bags is yet another one that I've been pondering the last few days.

The humid air we've had the last several days has exposed a small problem with the aging leather of my current steering wheel. The problem...the leather is slowly falling apart and coming off on my hands or clothes.

The two solutions that I am pondering are to pay someone to professionally recover the existing air bag equipped steering wheel or to replace the steering wheel with some aftermarket non-airbag steering wheel.

I'm conflicted, because I don't particularly want to irreversably alter the car, but I also like the idea of a better and more comfortable steering wheel in my car.

I guess a starting point would be to price out what it would cost to recover the wheel and possibly add some size to the rim so it fits better.

The other question becomes what wheel to put in the car if I decided to get a non-airbag wheel...

well, I suppose you could inflate bag with milk, then flood the car in an attempt to save someones like in the event of crash..... would this milk be homogenized I hope? What about the freshness problem. You don't want to crash and find out all you have to cushen yourself with is a block of cheese......
