I know this thread has been earmarked for the listing of famous people. Well my sister certainly isn't someone who would be considered remotely famous, though she certainly managed to gain a ton of friends over her 61 years of life. Many more friends than I would have in several lifetimes, that is for sure. She probably knew a thousand people on a personal level, and I can't think of anyone who could have a bad word to say about her. She raised a son as a widower, as her husband died tragically when their son was only 3 months old. I consider that as a superwoman trait. She passed away unexpectedly on October 15th, 2022, oddly enough on the exact same date as her namesake grandmother -who she adored. Sadly missed already, RIP - Concetta Mazzotta

Very sorry to hear of your loss. I heard a Father of a young hockey player that passed yesterday on the news say, "don't ask me how he passed, ask me how he lived." You have done just that in your description of your dear Sister. May she rest in peace.

Thank you for the kind words. Those words are very poignant to me, as the Italian culture is so morbid and depressing when it comes to funerals. They focus too much on the death and not the life, something I am trying to change in my own family.

As the executor of her will I am finishing the writing of her obituary, those words you noted shall be included, so very fitting ,and I Thank you.

Joe, I think when I made this thread I really didn't have only famous people in mind but regardless your Sister is certainly worthy of your post

VERY sorry to hear and read this
I love your choice of wording
Also your comment to The King regarding the attempt to change the memorial traditions in YOUR young family, you know THIS Italian gets it I dunno if its also a religion thing but I have so many memories of Aunts & Uncles's services where I would of rather not had to view them etc.... to say goodbye. Just a tuff thing for a child IMO

Love to all your family
