Lease deals aren't like what they used to be, just food for thought, though some manufacturers are more desperate than others.
Still say you should check out the BMW X2 and the Macan, they can be had for very reasonable money used/certified.

Well sadly the TLX's is now out as we went to look and feel and it surprisingly sat too low for C-6's approval 
and oddly the leg room in the back seat was kinda tight although I realize you said your sweeties has enough room but maybe it was just the seat position 
I may not even want to reveal what we get as you guys may diss own me
The reason for the switch from the Cayman S as you recall was for C-6 to be able to get in & out easily ( sucks having issues with your age )
I also don't feel the need for a high end SUV or Sedan even ( like BMW, Acura, Lexus etc... ) I love all those vehicles but this will end up being which vehicle fits in price , milage, & most of all comfort.
Looked at a very nice Accord today & well having owned MANY H vehicles I know it wouldn't be a bad one
I also like the Pathfinder and a few other I'll call Vanilla Fudge SUV's like the Tahoe , Expedition and new VW's

Years ago I cheered on my friend when they got a minivan. Not my preference but I’m not driving it so it didn’t matter. She needed to be happy with it and she was.

In all seriousness Mom make sure you and Skip get out and drive/ride in some different vehicles. A lot of times we look at cars and maybe find something we don’t like about the styling but then when you drive it it’s like wow this really fits me well and you find something that you like about driving it that you didn’t expect and it also works the other way.

We DID talk yesterday to the guy quite a bit about the ones they did there and learned a lot. Did NOT decide to go that route though.
C-6 is not a fan of BMW's and well I kinda feel like the only P car I'd own again would be a 2 seater
and we know thats prolly not gonna happen

ALL THOUGH I wanted @zdave87 know that I do like the Chevy Traverse and guess what I see its the Chevy version of that Buicks body or design

Learned something important yesterday, If a vehicle has an unresolved Re Call as in the manufacturer hasn't figured out the FIX yet then the dealer can't sell said vehicle, BUT if its on a lot OTHER than the type / brand vehicle it is they can. Not just Carmax or Carvana but any dealers used lot they can sell a vehicle of another brand even if theres an outstanding recall.
I have been checking the Carfax on any vehicle I look at and did note many of the used Atlas's had an unresolved Recall

I point out they could have bought a minivan that has more room, more gadgets, rides better, gets better mileage, has lower insurance costs, and is $5-10k cheaper.
"Yeah but minivans are lame."

Anecdote about that last part...
When i lived in SoCal I rented a minivan for a couple weeks (I had to fix the S2000 and also move to a new apartment at the same time... loads of fun). I would haul a couple loads of stuff each day after work. One of the days I was driving between places, and pulled alongside a pretty woman in a convertible (Jag F-type if memory serves), gave her an approving thumbs up. She smiled back and then noticed I was in a minivan and the smile rapidly turned into a "okay, whatever" look.
The stereotype is brutal.
When i lived in SoCal I rented a minivan for a couple weeks (I had to fix the S2000 and also move to a new apartment at the same time... loads of fun). I would haul a couple loads of stuff each day after work. One of the days I was driving between places, and pulled alongside a pretty woman in a convertible (Jag F-type if memory serves), gave her an approving thumbs up. Something like that.
We had a minivan (04 Odyssey) when our kids were little, served a purpose but realized a sedan would work just fine, especially one with awd. When the lease was up we went and got a 328xi, wife was much happier. Road noise on the minivans is awful on the highway since it's a big box echo chamber on wheels.
