So we were gonna head up the Ortega HWY out of Lake Elsinore where the Airport fire had come to from Trabuco Canyon in OC, there was an accident so we had to turn around but decided to head south & cut over to Oceanside then up the 5 and come back on the Ortega HWY, SO sad to see the devastation in those hills as we've driven thru there many times when we lived in Lake Elsinore 12 years ago. The Ortega goes from Lake Elsinore over the Cleveland National Forest into Dana Point ( San Juan Capistrano ) area.
Many properties gone , saw an area they had put all the Burnt Vehicles due to the evacuations. This fire was the one we saw from our home here in Menifee, and it started north in Trabuco Canyon ACCIDENTALY from some county vehicles
makes you feel for the people who lost everything seeing it first hand and I could still smell the smoke from all the ash on the ground!
Amazing they saved this property ^^^^^^
LUCKILY they saved the Lookout Cafe which has been there for years, very lil spot that many motorcycles & car 's stop at to enjoy the VIEW! Fire had gotten right up to it too across the HWY https://lookoutroadhouse.com

I know I posted this in my introduction thread but here is a look at a 20 years old rear driver's side tire after driving back over 3 hours from where I purchased it in Oklahoma. Didn't realize they were the factory tires until I stopped part way back and checked the tire manufacture date. I am still amazed that they held together. Btw, I didn't notice this damage until I got back and took them off to get the new Michelin PS4S mounted.
Stopped at an antiques store (which if I remember right was in Lathrop?) on our way to Marceline.
The shop owner suggested we take a more scenic route to Marceline and saw the lawn art shortly after leaving the store.
