Mike, my dad went from a 2 stroke to a 4 stroke when he got his new boat... it was a world of a difference. Just the quiet and lack of smoke was worth the cost. Hard to measure fuel savings on a 90 hp motor, but I'm sure they'll add up over the 5-10 years my dad will have the boat (and he puts a LOT of hours on it).

My friend with 28 foot Grady does weekly Canyon/Mud hole runs. I will ask him some numbers on fuel savings for you guys! He himself was amazed on the difference and used this to the FP for justification for a 50K boat upgrade!

Yeah, I think the 90 4-stroke was like $2000 more than the 2-stroke... he'll probably save that much several times over.

And if your friend is running twin 225s and uses them to troll, he's going to save a TON of fuel... 2 strokes are horrible for trolling.

Alright, well, close anyway.

Yup, that's a ton 'o money no matter how you slice it. Used would seem like the way to go (IMO).

Anyway, you're right Mike. Nice to have the friends to mooch off of.
