Right now I'm also a little afraid of V-dubs reliability. A good portion of VW owners I know have had a lot of problems with their cars while most Honda owners I know have had very little. Consumer Reports also reflects this. I received a "tighten gas cap" message during the test drive of the GTi. After the drive, it didn't seem like it was loose.

Right now the VW does have one edge. The saleslady was much cuter than the Honda salesman.

Right now cash out the IRA, sell the S2000, the Corsica, my 320 diecasts and a home equity line and I'm there.

what about resale value? (not that you have to think that far in advance), but a thought nontheless.
