Right now
. I was impressed with my parent's 06 Civic LX and have been very happy with my current Honda. I have my
set on an STi, but if that's not financially feasible, an Si would be a great alternative.

Right now how they compare:
Exterior Styling: Kind of a toss up. Neither is drop dead beautiful. The GTi looks like a shoe on wheels and the Si has that boy racer look complete with VTEC sticker or the lower rocker.
Interior: The GTi has richer materials and I like the seats slightly better. I felt the Si's seats were lacking a bit in the lower back. I despise the Si's steering wheel, it's fugly and the gauges are a bit odd but are practical. The GTi's gauges look a little dated to me.
Engine: I give the edge to the GTi. The Si's engine is no slouch, it revs freely and the VTEC crossover is noticeable. But the GTi has a broader and more useful powerband.
Transmission: Again edge to the GTi. The throws feel a bit longer than the Si, but they are more positive and the clutch has good feel. The Si's box was a little notchy and the clutch was a bit like an on/off switch. But the Si did only have 10 miles on the odo so it wasn't broken in all the way. The GTi had 50 miles.
Steering/Braking: I didn't have much chance to really drive them hard but both handle very well.
Ride/Comfort: The GTi is much quieter and smoother.
Price: The Si all the way. $22,000 vs. $28,000. You can get a stripped GTi for about $4,000 less but it comes with very cheesy retro cloth seats.
