Meanwhile in UnkeTrunkieville, I'm contemplating one of a couple of ideas:
1. Buy a used projector that's good-e-nuff for DVD.
2. Buy a used RPTV that's good-e-nuff for DVD.
3. Buy a LCD-flat or a thin-line DLP or LCD RPTV, and duke it out to see whether the current gen of mid-end RPTVs are really going to deliver on HD formats
4. Just wait until Sony has Bravia-inspired mid-end that'll play the HD what-have-you
