The more I think about it, the more I am sure: I would rather watch a good (read: local!) Junior A game than watch an NHL game on tv. It's not just about the players - it's the experience.
That and it's way cheaper.

I wonder if people will still remember hockey 25 years from now.

Hockey will survive... it's too good a game. It'll just be a niche sport for a few decades.

Damn, Nike, you have good eyes........... I could not see the hooters for the cup!

I really miss hockey this time of the year. No road racing. No S2000 racing. No nothing on TV. I get to watch the grandson play but even he got thrown out of the last game (8 yrs old mind you) for a slash. He deserved it. He and another player had been pushing each other's buttons for the whole game. The other player gave him a clean shot coming down the rink, so he had the toss out coming - it was his own coach that tossed him out! Hopefully, a good lesson...... he needs to learn some sportsmanship.

EJ Hradek reports that owners have come back with a $45 million hard cap but not having minimums and not being tied to league revenues... 11th hour save, perhaps.

I wasn't the one that spotted them! I had to go back for a second look to see what the fuss was about.
