Interesting. If this does happen, it opens the door for an NHL team to move to Cleveland. The argument against Cleveland having an NHL team has always been that they don't have enough hockey fans to support both teams.

I have more optimism today that they could reach a deal. With the players making a concession on the sal cap it could mean that there will be an easier time getting a deal... maybe not in time for this year but in time for next.

Don't know though... anything can happen.

My fear is that if no deal is done today (to save this season), the players association will retreat to their no salary cap stance and they'll be back to square one again.

Modano's comments about Bettman that got inked today don't help, either...

i've heard that as well, but when i'm going to barons games and there's 10 people in the stands, it is tough to justify ANY hockey
