The Semi-Official Hockey Thread...
I agree with the first part. As far as revenue sharing, if the league has a contract with TV-then yes that money should be shared. But if team *A* can sell outside advertisements-it should be their money to keep or use to pay their players.

Interesting. I couldn't disagree but speculating I've been more concerned about the loss of interest in the US. That would make markets like Tampa Bay and maybe even San Jose a risk. Calgary still has an overwhelmingly supportive fan base. Ottawa on the other hand.... could be in trouble.
Los Tiburones are a big draw in Silicon Valley in spite of higher and higher ticket prices.

Kinda interesting how people reacted to the news in Hockeytown. One guy was so upset he told his family he was not renewing his season tickets - first time in 20 yrs - and told his kids they were never getting another Red Wing product! I think he was
On the other hand, lots of people were finding out that instead of shelling out $200 per game for a family of 4, they could see the minor league for $32 and still drink just as much
If I lived near one of their ice boxes I would join them.
I doubt if we will ever see Captain Steve play again; but, with his age and eye injury this forced sit out may have been a good thing because no one can play forever.
