Ah it's back. All the images were showing "Failed to create"... something must have been wrong on the server.

Of the "true" original Five...

Montreal Canadiens - Continue today
Montreal Wanderers - Gone in one year
Ottawa Senators - Gone in '31 (Today's Sen's are named after, not direct lineage
Quebec Bulldogs - Gone in one year
Toronto Arenas - Continue today... Renamed Toronto St. Patricks in 1919 and renamed again, Toronto Maple Leafs in 1926

The first Phili teams was the Philadelphia Quakers.

Vancouver's first team was the Millionaires... I'm not sure what the timeline on them was.
I'm just waiting for Winnipeg to get a team back - Go Jets

Pretty sure the Vanc Millionaires were never NHL though... they were Pacific Hockey league in the 20's

Oh yeah... it would be nice for Winnepeg to get a team back. I've always been suprised that Saskatoon or Regina has never had a (NHL) team. Fans in Sask are notoriously fanatical.

What happened to that Winnepeg team, why did it fold? It couldn't have been lack of fan support.

Couldn't translate fan support into money. Remember the cost of living in Winnepeg is pretty low... Players want $US and the people couldn't justify paying $50 for a ticket.

Frankly I don't blame them.

I was getting all set for that Leafs/Flyers Quarter Finals. Looks like we'll have to wait 'til Tues night to see.

Have you seen the NHL Playoff Screensaver and Desktop at cbc.ca ? Pretty cool.

That is cool, right now I feel like plastering my walls, desk & everything else with NHL/Flyers stuff.

If Boston looses, we play the winner (Leafs ) of your series. Either way, I can't wait.

Is that right? I'll believe you but I thought that Phil plays the winner of the Leafs/Sens and the Lightning plays the winner of the Habs/Bruins no matter what.
