The Semi-Official Hockey Thread...
From NHL.com:
"If Boston beats Montreal in Game 7 on Monday night, the Bruins will meet the Flyers in the next round. But if Montreal wins, the Canadiens will play Tampa Bay, while the Flyers face the winner of the Toronto-Ottawa series. The Maple Leafs led 3-2 entering Sunday night's Game 6. If necessary, Game 7 of that series is Tuesday night."
Surprised the hell out of me too.

Hmmm. I figure it this way then:
Eastern Div ended this way...
1 TAMPA BAY
2 BOSTON*
3 PHILADELPHIA*
4 TORONTO
5 OTTAWA
6 NEW JERSEY
7 MONTREAL
8 NY ISLANDERS
So they start like this:
1 TAMPA BAY
vs.
8 NY ISLANDERS
2 BOSTON*
vs.
7 MONTREAL
3 PHILADELPHIA*
vs.
6 NEW JERSEY
4 TORONTO
vs.
5 OTTAWA
So... since 1 plays 4 and 2 plays 3 in the quarter finals... and if Boston wins they'll be 2 and if Montreal wins they'll be 4....
Okay... it all makes sense to me now.

Thanks

I'm pretty confident that's it and I've updated all the crap on my office walls to reflect that.
The West is interesting that way too... One and two are decided (Wings and Sharks respectively). Question is who will they play?
If Canucks beat Flames then they finish 3rd and play Sharks. If Flames win they finish 4th and play the WIngs. The winner of the Av/Stars series then becomes 4th (if Canucks win) or 3rd (of Flames win) and will play WIngs or Sharks respectively.
Make sense?

Habs won!! So they'll be playing Tampa in the next round if Im not mistaken.. Never envisioned those two teams to meet up in the 2nd round of the playoffs at the beginning of the season..
But the BIG game is tomorrow.. In all honesty, Leafs should have already lost by now, they've been outplayed, and if it wasn't for Belfour they'd be playing golf right now...
With Nolan and Sundin out, it's gonna be toughhhh.. If they do win, gotta get tickets for next round, I think I can only afford the standing room only tickets which still go for a good penny!
