Interesting article about Ovechkin... depressing about the 11 year old with 2 hio's.
"Bench the french"....
Our man Billy did paste in that he was a devils fan but didn't own up in his later post. That's okay... I'd be ashamed of being a devils fan too.

Just flipping through my local paper, and I found this:
Alexander Ovechkin, who was first overall pick in last year's NHL entry draft by the Washington Capitals, has until 9pm to decide whether he will be joining the NHL this year, or whether he would like to put in another year in Russia with his recently signed 1-year deal with Omsk. Because of the recently scaled back salaries, Ovechkin can make more playing for Omsk than in the NHL.

I got into the Avs because I'm a huge fan of Milan Hejduk and Joe Sakic. If they leave I'll probably lose interest in the Avs.

Although not an Avalanche fan, I am a big Joe Sakic fan. Total class act and the best player in the NHL (world for that matter) the past 10 years. I would love to see him finish his career in Canada although very doubtful. There has always been speculation that he would sometime suit up for his hometown Canucks, I believe Joe is from Burnaby.

Ovechkin has decided to play in the NHL (wise choice).
I'm also glad to look at the NHL section of ESPN and see news other than "the two sides met and reported no progress".

yet?
