I know! It's ing sad! When I got mugged the guy pistol-whipped me in the face...I was rolling around, in the rain, on the ground with a concussion, for an HOUR!

What happened to decency? it all! Thanks mom for teaching me to stick up for the little guy. I met this lady's to kids..hell I dug her car out.....what happened to caring about the guy next to you? Remember all the times you ignored the cries for help when it's your turn...that's all I got to say about that...

Not only do you sleep at night, but there's a lady in the DC area that's able to do the same because of you.

You're very right about decency. Everytime we see such events and choose to do nothing we define ourselves. I, for one, don't like that definition.

I would much rather put myself at risk (physically, financially, whatever...) doing the right thing than to be safe and ignore those in need.

My mom once told me to do what's right and not what's easiest.....she told me...as soon as you know something is the easy way of getting through the day "throw it in the garbage"....She lives by that rule a lot better than I ever have...but the idea has never left me...Yer a good guy Brantley...you'd step up to the plate.....let's pool our resources and pimp out some (you know it) STOOKS to fight crime!

I have to agree with the sentiment here though ..... I am often accused (if that is the right word) of putting other people before myself ...... well I think it is a good thing not something to be ashamed of, it is just a shame that there are not more people like Jim out there who are prepared to put themselves at risk to help others ....

 

I'd like to think I would have done the same in your shoes, Led, and I hope to God I never have to find out. Not because of fear so much as just hoping that the world never gets so bad that I have to be tested...

 

I told mom I was scared SHITLESS (and I was!)...but I couldn't walk away...If you heard this lady crying you wouldn't have either....It kinda helped that I was fairly certain the guy didn;'t have a gun Mom likes to say I am a glutton for punishment!

I can't think of a single Corner Veteran who wouldn't help out...you are all very benevolent souls...
