I’m saying that I was work today and a long time customer came in and I saw that she was upset. She walked over to me, gave me a huge hug for like 5 minutes and said to me - thank you so much for being here. We both broke the hug and went to sit down - she started crying and we just sat for 15-20 minutes.

Managers and team leaders came over and said ‘Dave - how do you have customers come to you and do that?’ I said that I just have that inner thing that connects with people - it’s not intentional, it just is.

I think I have the ability to connect with people (no matter the race or sex of the person ) and I think Shareall (CBabe) understands that.

 

I’m agreeing lots of folks know who is safe/who they can trust without any words being spoken. It’s an honour when people trust you with tough stuff.

 

I’m back in the Midwest for a few days.

I'm not at all amused by that, either.

 

I’m loving this with all my heart.

 

I’m of the opinion that the Porsche 911 is the greatest car ever made (the Geo Metro is a close second).

 

I'm saying that a 911 in proper tune does do just about everything well.

 

I’m noting that I had another customer come in today with her 2 daughters and the oldest one (maybe 6 or so) just came up to me and said ‘Mister Dave - I miss you!! Managers in other departments saw that and gave fist bumps, saying we need more people like you. That made me feel really great.

 

I’m also saying that during the daytime that I had another customer come thru, she had. the 8pack of Coca Cola and I said ‘Have you tried the Mexican Coke?’ She said no and I said it is the best. She asked if we had it and I said yes - let me get you a 4pack. Did that and my store manager came over a couple minutes and basically said - ‘How you upsell is terrific - we need you to train the other associates on how to do that’.

 

I’m latching on to feel good stories like this - they have a ripple effect for sure.
