I'm happy for you

 

I’ m having a pretty damn good week. Have been surprised by a few customers who just come up to me and give hugs. The last one before my shift ended came up behind me, and just hugged me for like 2-3 minutes. Management saw that and later said ‘Dave - how do you get those hugs / relations from those customers?’ I just said I try to get to know them and listen and tell them if you want to talk, we can. Don’t care if it takes me away from my job but people need to talk to someone or have an interaction.

I’ m noting I had a customer yesterday come through my my line wearing a Pink Floyd tee shirt and I said ‘Shine on You Crazy Diamond’.

She smiled and laughed and hugged me.

I'm saying where the heck do you work with the constant hugging

 

I’ m telling Vadster that I work at a grocery store ( Publix)and it happens daily. Management continually asks me what I do and I just say that I can read / understand people and I can react to them.

 

I'm saying I thought you no longer worked at Publix. I'm saying I prefer it to Kroger here.

 

I’ m informing Vadster that I’ ve been working there since Nov 2019 but I also freelance as floral design/ coordinator for weddings and large events.
