Thumbs down Semi-official let us discuss electronics thread.

We are moving and are considering a new flat panel TV. Sadly I have become a home electronic neophyte ..we are still working on a 35" tube (top o the line Hitachi Ultravision, in its day was a beauty)

Anyway I need some advice. We have a small room so we are hoping to get a wall mount. Looking at no larger than 40" Flat panel or DLP projector ( I know I cant hang a DLP on the wall)

LCD or Plasma? Or DLP?
What is the minimum resolution I should look for?
Is the new 1080P resolution that big of a difference?
Can the wall mounts swivel at all left to right? OR just up and down?

Feel free to up this thread.

I can't help you but I'm in the same boat as you are. From personal viewing I think I like plasma best of all the formats that you listed. I remember reading something that said the 1080P is only for HD DVD right now but will be available for broadcast later this summer or fall.

Let me re-emphasize I don't know squat.

I guess you never know what a Google search will turn up. Those are all mathematical papers my brother wrote for his post-doctoral work.
