You are correct sir. The D310 was a mid/late '05 model. It does not have high-speed connection for the iPod.

If you dont want a screen why are you considering a DVD player WITH a screen?

120V cigarette lighter --> 110V house adapter
plug in old 8-track player
place said 8-track player on passenger side seat
RCA --> 1/8" stereo plug adapter
run said adapter to MP3 player plug-in

Voila!
