Totally understanable, but don't let the fear drive you too much though - doing so gives these cowards way too much credit.
What I can't imagine is being a civilian in Iraq, where far more die every single day. We're blessed to be in such a safe nation.

It's sad no one had a gun in order to stop him.
We have the 2nd amendment in order to be able to defend ourselves from such a$$holes.... but no one took it upon them-self to do so. You can't count on the police to protect you. 99% of the time the police can't get there until the crime is over with.
Hindsight is always 20/20, but...Would you really want to go to a school with armed guards on the remote chance that some psycho's gonna shoot a bunch of people? It almost seems as though you're creating an environment of fear. I know there are high schools and whatnot that have metal detectors, etc., but I would not personally want to go to a school where people are fearful for their personal safety. It's a basic sense of security and armed guards would make me wonder what I need to be worried about since the reality is, school shootings are not an every day occurence.
Cripes I'm sorry. I forgot we're in the Corner. That post was entirely too long.

I'm just completely jaded about the whole thing. . . already.
No shock, no horror, nothing. I'm not trying to be too cool or anything, but stuff like this doesn't phase me anymore.
What's more disheartening is that elsewhere on this board, and in the corners of the office, on the radio, and in print, everyone is acting out the same old plays.
What's new, creative, or forward-thinking about any of this?
