But hey, at least we got "Virginia Tech Massacre" theme music.
It's probably just patch #243 on GigaSampler's Orchestral library. Ready-to-go at a moments' notice.

there should have been some sort of armed security inside the building
To what ends?

Honestly I would have been pretty resentful at the relatively small college I went to if every building (I think there were about 25 campus buildings, and some of them were fairly large with multiple entrances) had one or more security guards. I think we had 4 for the entire campus, and 3 of those primarily worked weekends/evenings. The illusion of security probably is worse than not having any security.

It's obviously not safe to be in a school where no one can defend themselves and protect others.
I don't remember a lot of students who carried guns with them to class... Again, totally different environment than a huge campus like VT, but still... I don't think having to defend oneself is high on the priority list for students.

i don't the all of the details of the school, but i remember when i went to high school there was at least one security person that i think carried a gun. sure there were 2000+ students and dozens of buildings, but i don't think one armed guard is asking too much when there's a chance some idiot might bring a gun to school.

Well, in a perfect world, nobody would have to have that as a high priority. This is not a perfect world.

See you in a half hour mom.
