I learned that veal can die of loneliness:
Lisa: Do we have any food that wasn't brutally slaughtered?
Homer: Well, I think the veal died of loneliness.
and that money can buy love:
Homer: Bart, with $10,000, we'd be millionaires! We could buy all kinds of useful things like...love!
and that money can be exchanged for goods and services:
Homer: Aw, twenty dollars! I wanted a peanut!
Homer's Brain: Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts!
Homer: Explain how!
Homer's Brain: Money can be exchanged for goods and services!
Homer: Woo-hoo!
and that learning makes you forget stuff:
Homer: How is education supposed to make me feel smarter? Besides, every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff out of my brain. Remember when I took that home winemaking course, and I forgot how to drive?
and that getting out of jury duty is easy:
Homer: Getting out of jury duty is easy. The trick is to say you're prejudiced against all races.
and lastly that vampires are make-believe
Homer: Lisa, Vampires are make-believe, like elves, gremlins, and eskimos.

two life lessions tonight...
1. People don't want to watch television programs that preach: Homer has high rating when he was talking about nothing but when he was trying to be a good citizen and talk about making the world a better place, he was cancelled.
2. A good wife will stand by yourside through thick and thin: Marge gave Homer the emotional support he needs when his show was cancelled. You have to admire that.
