Song of the day for Mom.
How about the Drifters?
This magic moment,
so different and so new,
'unlike any other
until I met you.
And then it happened.
It took me by surprise.
I knew I had found you
by the look in your eyes.
Sweeter than wine,
Softer than the summer sky.
Every time at all I ask,
whenever I hold you tight.
This magic moment.

Mom, yeah I know of all them. I smoked hash with Stephen Stills, my girlfriend, and her dog (who also liked beer). I think I also ttold you I knew the Turtles from the Westchester Library. I also surfed with Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys -- long before they screwed up their lives (at least Brian did).

Hmm... bit newer, but one of my oldie faves:
Seems like yesterday
But it was long ago
Janie was lovely
She was the queen of my night
There in the darkness
With teh radio playing low
And the secrets that we shared
Mountains that we moved
Caught like a wildfire out of control
Til there was nothing left to burn
And nothing left to prove
And I remember what she said to me
How she swore that it'd never end
I remember how she held me
Oh so tight
Wish I didn't know now what I did know then
Against the wind...

Mom-
I got XM satellite radio for Christmas from Mrs. Raptor. YOU SHOULD GET IT! 100 mostly commercial free stations. Digital quality and unbelievable reception. I can run through the canyons with no interference. You can drive coast-to-coast and listen to the same station. XM has several stations called The Decades -- one station each for the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and current tunes. Each station has stuff like original news clips (think Apollo 11 landing on the moon, Kennedy assassination, Three Mile Island) to make you think you're reliving the era. I get in my car and think "Do I want to listen to the 70s, or maybe the 60s?" It's
ing great.

Me either (except for some late 50s). I think you're missing my point. It's hard to describe satellite radio to someone who's never heard it. Kind of like trying to describe satellite TV to someone who's only experienced cable. I really think you should look into it.

that one should be in this thread too
