You're kidding? I had never heard of boiled peanuts in my life. I was talking to a guy about where to get fresh asperagus and I asked what up with the boiled peanuts? He said they are nasty and mushy and he doesn't understand either.

Peanut soup - we call it ground nut stew and it is yummy! I think the version I make is African.
When we lived in NC we had to buy some of those boiled peanuts and they are nasty. Reminded me of - say you are a a party, drunk and you don't realize till you've been eating them that someone spilled beer in the nut bowl and they are all soggy and nasty.
