Speaking of roadside food-has anybody ever bought "fresh shrimp" from a guy selling out of the back of his pickup?
I used to buy shrimp/seafood from them when I lived in Texas. Good stuff from some local fisherman who were trying to make a buck.

I was in Long Island NY this weekend and so guys selling gulf shrimp but I was hesitant buying from him.

Yeah you're right, south Louisiana is like it's own section of the country. North Louisiana is quite different however.

We loved to buy the roadside shrimp- it was really fresh and we steamed them in beer. Yum!
