The real question is if I actually could afford a Z-8, would I buy one?

I think not. I would up the ante and go for a Ferrari. The BMW is too expensive.

Actually, Rob, there were two Dinos, and the numbers differ after the first year of production. I can't keep it straight. I think you're right though.... It's something like a 2.4L engine.

It screams though. 30 years old, and redline is up near 8K or so!

And NOOOOO engine management. Talk about overrev risk!

There is 206 and 246 officially. Some people insist that all V-8 Ferrari's are Dino's but that's a whole other story. You are right about the engine it is 246 which signifies 2.4 liter and 6 cylinder.
