I drove my mom's Proton Saga sometimes, when I was in highschool. I don't really remember what it's like to drive one of those though.
Protons are really, just rebadged Mitsubishis. It's kind of sad. I think Proton has been around about 10 years now, and I don't think they are able to make a whole car from the grounds up yet. It irks me too that they really have no reason to, as long as the company is profitable doing what they do. As long as there's government protection (ludicrous taxes levied on imports), they are going to be profitable...

Isn't there a TVR concession in Malaysia?
I am sure I read somewhere that TVR set up a factory in Malaysia to beat the import duties .....
