The funny thing is that in Malaysia, the Malays like the license plate number 4444 because they say it looks like four persons sitting cross legged, doing nothing.

The Chinese like number plates with 8s in them because the pronunciation for 8 is close to that of wealth .......

Alfa Romeo had a 164 a few years ago ..... in Hong Kong it was sold as a 168 !!!

I've seen that with the Koreans, James. 8 is a lucky number. The more 8s the better.

So, imagine if your an architect and you try to accommodate all these cultures. You'd have no floor 4, three floor 8s, no 13...

That'd be one strange building.

Most Architects design pretty strange buildings anyway ...... they should leave the design to the surveyors and engineers, everyone would live and work in square buildings ..... since that is the most economic design

Yeap, wealth or prosperity (especially in Cantonese, but Mandarin too)...

168 is very popular among the Chinese.

1 = 1
6 is pronounced like "road" in Chinese

168 = A Journey of Prosperity.
