Funny in a small group of friends but not at a mixed company banquet--to me anyway.

You have to know when you can let out a joke like that and when NOT to

I wouldn't even find it funny in a small group... because it's not...

I'm glad we never ate inside the banquet hall that would have seriously pissed me off

Well I was referring to the fact that some things should not be brought up in a large group of people!

If that's your taste in jokes then it's ok if you share them with your friends.

i agree the joke isn't that funny. But I personally don't feel it should be offensive either.

I mean C'mon, is this the level of political correctness we have reached???? The country is becoming watered down to a ridiculously bland level by sanitizing everything to such extensive degrees.

Personally, Rick's joke could have had "robbie" as the punch line and I wouldn't have been offended. Why??? Because I had at least 89 important things to worry about already.

I understand. You and Patty both make a valid point - it's inappropriate in mixed company.

My point was that it's not even funny... so why risk offending to tell a joke that's not funny? That is all.
I stand by my pompous statement Why else would one think this is ok?

And Patty I do agree with you,..after hearing you paraphrase the "joke" that it was totally inappropriate at a banquet. Especially one with a mixed audience. I know quite a few women S owners (and wives/co-owners) and all of them deserve to be treated with more respect than this
