Just to see if it's the synchros, if Jen were to put the clutch in, the rattling would slow down, and eventually stop right?

Or clutch in (rattling slows down), put it in gear (rattling stops), and take it out of gear (rattling should not come back).

Does that sound right, Wicky?

Could you try this, Jen?

Also, does this mean I should double clutch every shift?
when the clutch is in the rattling will never stop i can sit there for days and it will still rattle, not sure if rattle is the best word to describe it. kinda shutter maybe. but the tranny itself is very noisy.

or second scenrio clutch in rattling slows, in gear rattling almost gone thne outta gear ratttling completely back.

and when i start out like in first gear it kinda boggs out and makes this weird like glumnk bugunk glunk noise its very very odd sounds like something is about to fall outta/offa the car.

honda wouldnt be doing the install jon would be doing it so its pretty much the parts cost not labor that i have to worry about.

looks like any savings and dreams of a s/c are being burned up faster than a clutch and dick who cant drive stick

hmmm... I think lenny's right, there's some bearing shit going on. You might even have some gears chewed up, no way to know without opening it up. My RX7 chewed up clutch bearings in a couple thousand miles, but the noise mostly went away with the clutch in, but I had other noises in the tranny, usually 1st and reverse synchros would go, and then all of 4th, gear bearings and synchros. It was a strange beast.

I still vote for the new tranny. It's a bit more, but shit. Do it right, do it once.

if the bearings have gone square that's really going to gum up the works... sounds like what is happening.

I'm 3 thousand miles away, what do I know ?

yeah, but they don't have bearings that go bad. they're just bad from the start.
